We had an amazing end to 2020 with two local markets. In November, we attended our first show ever at the Athens Farmers Market Holiday Artist Market. We were definitely nervous to see how the public would react to our strange and otherworldly wares, but we were pleasantly surprised with a great turnout and a curious crowd who appreciated our unique works. It was a beautiful day, with everyone masked up and a nice breeze blowing through. At the end of the day, we felt hopeful that we could really follow our dreams and make art for a living!
Our next market, a two-day event hosted by Indie South (theindiesouth.com), was another wonderful success, inspiring us even more to continue our art journey. We were surprised to notice that many people had a keen interest in our “monsters,” and Cal is excited to make more odd designs of the like. Our next show isn’t until April- although we do have some applications waiting in the wings. So, we continue to work on new designs. Right now, Cal has been making some sailboat pieces, as well as new abstract creatures. I’m trying to figure out the best way to use our online shop, as it gets a bit difficult to have to update the inventory after every market we participate in. I feel confident that we will make our way in this art world, and I am excited to see what 2021 has to offer!
